Figuring out the influential spots, small cubbyholes, firing lanes, etc. World of Tanks is primarily knowing maps very well and which areas are beneficial to you and which areas will result in you being torn to shreds. Abbey Abbey is a smaller map that is decided very quickly which team will have the upper hand. This map has 3 key locations located in the center of the map that are crucial to obtaining map control but at the same time require one another to prevent being flanked. This is because Airfield is essentially split in two and down the center of the map are defined engagement areas that slow down the pace of the fight in most matches. This can be both good and bad for your team since Airfield usually ends up favoring the team that gets the first good punch in since it can easily snowball due to the small map size. This map has most of the action funneled into 3 specific areas with the deciding factor of the match depending on which team can break through one flank without losing the others. At the same time it is very important to control the map since El Halluf rewards spotting and playing as a team to keep enemies pinned into their starting areas. This map plays roughly the same for both sides with only minute differences. Both sides benefit greatly from initial aggressive movements by small groups of tanks to pin the enemy close to their starting points.
It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the language and ideas that represented each year. So, take a stroll down memory lane to remember all of our past Word of the Year selections. Change It wasn’t trendy , funny, nor was it coined on Twitter , but we thought change told a real story about how our users defined
These tanks will still get farmed by the tier 8s and 9s that they always see and they will be better against the tier 7s (some times see) and 6s (almost never see). or mm of pen will still be irrelevant against an o-ho,type 4,defender,vk etc.
I am still pretty new to WoT. I can’t pen shit against tier X’s, hell even going toe to toe with a light or medium is a losing battle. For the lower tiers, I haven’t minded being the underdog at all as you can use some tact and get good hits in, but those tier X’s are almost untouchable with my VIII. I liken it to playing an FPS shooter where half the team have Katana swords and I get given a blunt spoon to hack away with.
I know what you’re going to say, stick at the back, be a lemming and grind it up. Well forget that there are 86, stars to atain just to get the tier IX gun, and even when I do I can get cornered by a light and get messed up badly or tageted by the heavies regardless. I am basically screwed. It’s almost feels like lower tiers in higher end matches are just put in for canon fodder as it’s pretty shitty game play at best Tier X hit me once..
I aim steady and return fire, right in the commander hatch.. I’am lucky if a 10th of it’s health gets taken at best. It’s pretty piss weak game play if you ask me.. I can rock it in the Tiger I full upgraded against the Tier 8’s no problem.
The Matchmaker Explained
There has not been very much reason for this, other than generally being busy at home, and busy at work. This has had some benefits. The first has been lots of practice in scout tanking — to admittedly variable success. It does been I am slowly grinding out the Chaffee , as well as getting the crews of the T and both Stuarts further trained 38 games between just those three.
I have also managed to get the Ace Tanker on the T Indeed, having got it once I soon got it again in another match.
It used to be possible for a game to have a single +2 tier tank or for bottom tiers to end up in stacked games with 10 top tiers. The matchmaker currently tries to create games with only 3 top tier tanks, which has the effect of more players not top tier in their games .
Please would you consider a fairer way of matchmaking tier v tanks, tier vii tanks are just too advanced to even consider it being a joyful challenge any more. You might as well match make tier iii tanks with tier v tanks and see how well they fair! If your Churchill is bottom tier, your role may be to act as a meat shield for a higher tier friendly heavy with a better gun than you. It’s better for your team if you, as the lowest tier heavy, die first, as long as your team get some good hits on the enemy shooting you.
Losing your Churchill I in exchange for killing an enemy Tiger is a good result for your team, giving your side an advantage in the rest of the match. The first aim of Blitz is to win, surviving the battle is less important. But, [sarcasm ON] It’s my favorite role in battle to be “meat shield”! It’s VERY interesting and my happy is out of boundaries! Same way tier III tanks can be good in tier X battles. Spinee, on 17 April –

This is particular true Tiers III-VI in my experience where I am starting to encounter matches where almost every and sometimes every tank is of the same tier. This was not a totally unknown phenomenon previously, but recently it has become an almost every-day occurrence. Do I think the arty-cap caused this? More I think the arty-cap helped me notice what was going on. If I were to make a guess it is because the number of people playing World of Tanks on the EU server has risen.
When I started playing World of Tanks I only rarely saw a server size of k. Now I quite regularly see a server size of k. I reckon this simply means the matchmaker is finding it easy to fill out matches consisting mostly or entirely of the same tier. It may be that the rolling arty hard-cap is also encouraging this in some fashion — it is something which has a few unintended consequences.
On the whole I have no complaints about this phenomenon.
Wot matchmaking tiers
Thus, when a player has been repeatedly put into too many difficult battles, the balancing is done in favor of easier battle sessions, thereby encouraging the player by providing an easier game environment. Similarly, when the player has been repeatedly put into too many easy battles, the balancing is done in favor of harder battle sessions, thereby keeping the player challenged instead of letting the player become bored with easy games. Another possible algorithm is to increase the battle level by one within the permissible range for a vehicle each time a player wins a battle with that vehicle, and decrease the battle level by one within the permissible range each time a player loses a battle with that vehicle.
If the battle level is already at the upper end of the range and the player wins the battle, the battle level may remain constant. Similarly, if the battle level is already at the lower end of the range and the player loses the battle, the battle level may remain constant. Let me ask you this:

So here is the general info based on the devs answers. General Provision The match-making system is an algorithm which distributes players into the teams before the start of battle. The way it works is really simple.
In Tier III and IV games it can go on the offensive, and is able to penetrate most other tanks easily. When it gets to Tier V, it runs into problems. The lack of penetration and armour limits its ability to be effective in anything other than a spotting role, unless you can take advantage of .
Pinterest0 The main method in World Of Tanks for game rigging is predetermining the winner and the loser by using unbalanced teams. If the teams are very unequal by skill or by composition tier spread, tanks upgrade state then predicting the winner becomes very easy. How would you do in a m sprint or in a heavyweight boxing match or in a game of chess at Olympic level? Kind of puts a smile in your face, right?
Unequal teams in World Of Tanks is current reality Armored Warfare on the other hand is supposed to have balanced matches by design. Teams in WOT are created by games matchmaker MM that in actuality rigs the games so that the playing of a game becomes pure formality the teams are so unbalanced that the game usually cannot be turned around even by some heroic playing and the stronger team wins easily. Random selection process would explain unequal teams very well and as such cannot be called rigging.
Like I said, teams may technically be created as random selection which creates inequality by nature, but the fact that they are not trying to create at least somewhat equal teams speaks volumes. The purpose of unequal teams is simple — the game can now determine who will lose and who will win. After supposedly random selection of teams there will most likely be some adjustments.
How Matchmaking Works in World of Tanks
TMC Archives Disclaimer — Depending on your territory some of these vehicles may not be available for sale at the time of writing. Others may be limited edition, which are occasionally on sale. It has been a while — nearly a year — since we reviewed any Premium tanks here at TMC. Before we start, people ask the question — or indeed forget to ask the question — why bother with Premium tanks?
There are a few reasons you may want to own one or more.
Matchmaker (WoT) Jump to This article is outdated and explains the matchmaking used until Team selection for random battles is done according to several parameters. Each battle takes place in a battle tier, which should not be confused with tank tiers. (On this page we always use Arabic numerals (“7”) when discussing battle tiers and.
Matchmaking Matchmaking The composition of tanks in each team is a task of matchmaker. It works in following manner. It takes one tank from the queue and looks at his tier. For example it is IS – russian heavy with tier 7. The matchmaker takes the corresponding line from the table below and sees that the IS has battle tiers from 7 till 9. Randomly is the tier for battle selected.
In our example let it be 8 from 7 to 9 incl. The matchmaker takes tanks from queue, which can participate in tier 8 battles see column number 8 in the table and puts them in 2 teams. In our battle we can face Tiger II and for example M6 both can participate in tier 8 battles. There are 12 battle tiers.

Hello Warriors, here are the statistics and screenshots of the upcoming British Premium FV (P).
This past May saw us test changes to the KV Had they proven agreeable, they would have been applied to other preferential tanks. As the feedback and testing showed, the reason you take these tanks onto the battlefield or bring them into your Garage in the first place is their preferential status and unique characteristics. In response to your comments, we went back to the drawing board to work on another round of adjustments. Here’s a look at where the current setup is falling short and how the upcoming changes address those areas.
Tanks with preferential status are likely to get matched into two- or one-tier battles, where their status combined with combat parameters does more harm than good. Improve the experience for preferential tanks while keeping the preferential matchmaking parameter and their unique characteristics intact. All-around vehicle rebalances on a tank-by-tank basis combined with matchmaker rule revision. Matchmaker rules revision is designed to better the experience for them, too.
Vehicle Rebalances We’ll kick-off the preferential tank revision by tweaking combat parameters. We originally set these parameters so tanks can play comfortably and competitively in Tier VIII-IX battles, where they are weaker than other machines in combat given their stats. With this in mind, at Tier X, these tanks would be ineffective, which is why they have preferential matchmaking.
